1.6.3

The Smart Balancer Rules of type Automatic Allotments for OTAs are useful for those willing to sell the last rooms via website, by closing the availability on the OTAs.

You can choose to "close" the rooms on the OTAs when the remaining availability is lower than, or equal to, a certain number of units. For example, you can set up a Rule for some dates of the year, and for some room types, to automatically close the availability on all channels when there are 3 or less units left. This way, the 3 remaining units will have to be sold through your own website.

Alternatively, you can choose to "close" the rooms on the OTAs when they have sold n units on the same dates. For example, you can set up a Rule for some dates of the year, and for some room types, to automatically close the availability on all channels when you have received 5 bookings through the OTAs on the same dates. This way, the remaining units will only be bookable through your own website.

This type of rules of the Smart Balancer can be useful to those properties that work also with sales agents, to allocate just a number of units available for the OTAs.

These rules will be executed automatically by the system, whenever you will receive a (confirmed) booking for a certain room type, and on some dates affected by at least one rule. It is not possible to fire this kind of rules manually. It's all automatic.

How to undo/cancel the results produced by the execution of a rule

By launching the function Bulk Actions - Copy Availability, the channel manager will transmit to the OTAs the real inventory of your website. This means that if some rooms were closed on some dates by a Smart Balancer rule, by launching the Bulk Action, the rule execution will be undone, and the OTAs will have again the same availability as on your own website. However, if the rule is still active an another booking comes in, the rule will be executed and applied again so consider removing the rule from the Smart Balancer if you need to stop it or to undo it.
