Tasks execution
In order to have all the AI related tasks executed automatically on your own WordPress or Joomla website, there may be some suggested actions to take. The framework execution of our plugins must be periodically invoked on your own website in order to have all the automatic AI operations performed correctly.
WordPress WP-Cron
WordPress users do NOT need to take any actions. In fact, thanks to the native WP-Cron framework, our plugins will install and schedule all the needed background tasks to perform the various AI operations automatically.
WP-Cron Server Side Configuration
Although no particular actions are needed for WordPress users, WP-Cron does not ensure the regular execution of specific tasks, for example "every 5 minutes". More details on how to always have WP-Cron run your scheduled tasks on time are available on our WordPress dedicated website at the link below:
Joomla
Joomla users do need to take some actions in order to ensure the periodical and constant execution of the AI framework of our plugins.
Scheduled Tasks
The Joomla CMS comes with a built-in component called Scheduled Tasks. This useful tool allows to schedule automatic operations to run at specific intervals. However, this native component was introduced with the version 4.1 of the Joomla CMS framework. Older Joomla versions will not support this native tool.
By creating a new Task through the "Scheduled Tasks" component, you should choose the type "GET Request" for your task. Give your task a name for management purposes, such as "VikBooking Execution", and choose the Execution Rule to define an interval in minutes. The recommended execution interval is 5 minutes, or even less. At that point, you need to configure the URL to trigger every 5 minutes to ensure the automatic AI operations of E4jConnect and VikBooking will run correctly. Please adjust the following URL by using your actual domain name:
https://yourwebsite.com/index.php?option=com_vikbooking&task=crontab
Save your new scheduled tasks by keeping the rest of the default settings. This way, your own website will ensure to ping every 5 minutes the above URL that will dispatch the necessary AI operations for execution.
Background Tasks
Joomla users will get a dedicated admin-widget called "Background Tasks". This admin-widget can be found the Multitask panel of the administrator section of VikBooking. By opening the admin-widget, the system will display all the scheduled tasks with the last and next executions, as well as a button to monitor the execution logs.
Please notice this admin-widget is not available for WordPress users, because it's not needed. It's available only on VikBooking for Joomla.
