There are some requirements you need to comply with as a Property Manager in order to be onboarded on Vrbo

The "Property Manager", often shorten as "PM", is the company or person that will be managing the Vrbo API channel through Vik Booking and Vik Channel Manager on their own WordPress or Joomla website.

These are the minimum requirements in order to be able to start working with Vrbo:

  1. Tax Identifier: The Property Manager must provide for EU (Vat or Tax Identifier), UK (VAT or Tax Identifier), Australia (ABN number), New Zealand (NZBN Number) and Canada (GST or QST or Tax Identifier). This means that only companies are accepted during the onboarding phase for your Vrbo master brand for your specific country.
  2. Minimum Listings: The property manager must activate at least 1 property/listing in Vik Booking and Vik Channel Manager. The activation cannot be done without any listing set up on the website.
  3. Payments Collection: Vrbo is not Merchant of Record. The property manager must have their payment method set up prior to starting onboarding (payment processor or invoice payment). This means that any reservation received through Vrbo will contain the credit card details from which the payment should be collected by the Property Manager through their own bank.
  4. Credit Card: The PM must have a credit card for the onboarding activation. Nothing will be debit during the activation process. The credit card will be used for the payment of future commissions and it's required to activate the PM account on Vrbo.

Possible onboarding scenarios and activation timing

  1. Net New PM Activation: PM is brand new and has no previous listing history with Vrbo, hence an account with Vrbo is not available and should be created by using the apposite Self-Service Onboarding link provided by Vik Channel Manager. Activation time of the account is around 24 hours.
  2. Platform to Channel Manager Activation: the PM has an existing Vrbo account, but it's not currently connected to any certified Channel Manager software with Vrbo. Activation time is around 24 hours.
  3. Channel Manager Software Switch: the PM has an existing Vrbo account which is currently connected to a different Channel Manager software. This should be switched to E4jConnect and the Vrbo future/active reservations will have to be listed in Vik Booking in order to complete the migration. Activation time is around 24 hours.

As long as you comply with the above requirements, Vik Channel Manager will provide the necessary tools to activate your Vrbo account and connection.
